Ock-nay-nay (that's horses for those of you who don't speak Tay Tay)

These photos are from the Rat's Nest, Squaw Creek drainage and Hard Trigger areas. These pictures were from a ride I went on with Nibbs (Brian Niblett), who has been slowly getting closer back to normal after his brain surgery. Brian and I saw some neat critters on our ride including a couple of coyotes, a herd of antelope and wild horses. I have seen wild horses many a time out in the Owyhees however this was the first time they would let me get so close to them. Honestly I must admit I was a little afraid of getting trampled to death by the Owyhee Brumbies, but my desire to get some photos of them overcame my instinctual desire for self preservation.=) How cool is it that we have wild horses in Idaho!!! The answer is, very cool.

Tay n' Jill's Adventures

Well we finally decided to get with the times and join the family blog so we can chime in and post some of our life updates and share some of our adventures with those who may give two hoots.

Recently we decided to part with the old International Scout II and my Yamaha WR426F motorcycle or "selfish bike" as Jill liked to call it since there were no foot pegs or room on the seat for two riders. Selling them allowed us a little cash to purchase an investment in fun. We found a 2003 Yamaha Grizzly 660 atv that we bought from a retired couple in western Oregon for a great price. Even though it is 6 years old it only had 208 miles on it and it came with some other goodies and a trailer to carry it.

So we took it out to the Owyhee Mts. for a ride and had a blast! One of the reasons we wanted a quad was to be able to go explore the back country of Idaho together in relative comfort and a little more safety then a dirt bike and easier on Jill's joints.

We are very fortunate to live in such an awesome state where we have so many diverse geographical areas to visit and enjoy. It is also great not to have too many tree huggin' granola heads taking away our freedom to get to those nifty places=).

Happy Birthday Angela Oct 11!!!

With Maggie and Andy's help, we made a cake on Sunday to celebrate Angie's b-day! Maggie had some very good ideas about how to do the faces on the cakes. It was going to be a cake just stacked on top of each other, but she wanted both Angela and Mommy to be featured, so we put them side by side. When I said that I did not like to make brown frosting, she suggested using sprinkles, so we used brown sprinkles for Angela's hair and yellow sugars for Mommy's hair. The word spacing was not well thought out, so it shows Mommy's face with Angela's name....oh well, it was fun for the kids to be involved, and we remembered them both!! Maggie insisted we look upward as we sang Happy Birthday! Cute huh?
I can't believe it has been 32 years.....a lot of time and things happening for our little fam!!
Love you all! MJ

Maggie's soccer game Oct 10

Here are a couple of pics of Mags at the very cold soccer game. She is really catching on to the game and is scoring and holding her own with the team. Fun to see her enjoy playing! We love ya Maggie!!

Tay Graduates from POST

It was great to be at the graduation for Taylor on the 25th! We are so proud of you son, and it was fun for the kids to see you in your uniform with all those other officers. Afterwards Andy and Maggie were playing and drawing pictures of "police" stuff. Andy asked if Tay and Jill were going to come over for the game that night, when I said yes, he asked "Is Tay going to wear his police costume?" That was too cute! Congrats Tay!! And congrats also to Jill for enduring the 10 weeks of being alone so much of the time! =)) MJ

Happy Belated B-Day Barry!

Sorry to post this late, but the wishes are still the same - hope your day was a good one Barry!! Glad you are a part of our fam - love ya tons!
